It was a hot Bank Holiday Monday when the 14 walkers set off for a 3-hour guided walk led by two local farmers. Our guides were on hand to pass on their considerable knowledge of the farming practices in the Idsworth valley from ancient times through to the present day. Swifts and swallows glided overhead, a deer bounced through a field of wheat, wild flowers and orchids graced the chalk downs, there was refreshment at the Red Lion, Chalton…a memorable outing in excellent company, much enjoyed by all.
